Sacramento Section Quarterly Report

Since the March 2007 corporate meeting, the following activities occurred.The Sacramento Section Executive Committee met 11 April, 2 May, and 22 May.

We had a Quarterly Section meeting that about 250 members attended on 8 May. We had a very nice picnic at McKinley Park. Dennis Alexander was the keynote speaker. It was a beautiful day with great food and a relaxed atmosphere.

Many Sacramento Section members volunteered for the Sacramento Regional Science and Engineering Fair at Rosemont High School on 24 March. This was a great opportunity and a memorable experience for students, teachers, parents, and the judges. These fairs are important community events that help cultivate the next generation of scientists and engineers in the region. PECG is a proud sponsor of this science fair.

Many officers and members organized and volunteered for the 2007 National Science Competition (2007 NSC) on 21 April. The Sacramento Valley Chapter of the Korean-American Scientists & Engineers Association (KSEA-SVC) organized this event. I’m proud to say that 8 of the 10 officers are PECG members. Craig and Joyce Copelan also dropped by to help out. Overall, about 70 kids participated and 25 adults came by to be volunteers and judges. PECG is a proud sponsor of the 2007 NSC.
